

Floyd retired as a custodian with Belleville School District #118, with most of his years at Franklin School. He was a U.S. Army veteran earning a Bronze Star and an Efficiency medal. Floyd was a past Commander of American Legion Post 58.
Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, August and Myrtle, nee Tribout, Munie; five brothers, Frederick, Cletus, Vernon, Donald, and Melvin (Geneva) Munie; a sister, Eileen (Walter) Renth; and a brother-in-law, Erwin Wilhelm.
Surviving are his loving wife of 57 years, Barbara J., nee Hartmann, Munie; three daughters, Pam (Danny) Halel of Belleville, IL, Karen (Stephen) Allen of Belleville, IL, and Joyce Munie of Springfield, IL; four grandchildren, Brian Howard, Beth Halel, Bradley (Rebecca Young) Howard, and Michael Halel; two sisters, Patricia (Harold) Cunningham of Swansea, IL, and Delores Wilhelm of Mascoutah, IL; 3 sisters-in-law, Lillian Munie of Belleville, IL, LaDona Munie of O’Fallon, IL, Betty Wilson of Swansea, IL, a brother-in-law Allen (Theresa) Hartmann of Belleville, IL; and many nieces and nephews.
A special thanks for the loving care given by Belleville Healthcare and Rehabilitation during the last years of his life and to Heartland Hospice for all their patience and caring during Floyd’s last weeks.
