Geree Ann Hansen

Geree Ann Hansen, 83, of Waterloo, IL, passed away on Wednesday, June 28th, 2023 in Belleville, IL. She was born on April 1st, 1940 in East St. Louis, IL. Geree was a beloved wife, mom, sister, and mommaw.

Geree was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Mildred “Sweet” (Edwards) Thompson, sister Sharlee (Carl) Cerneka, nephew Mark Cerneka, and many other dear loved ones.

She is survived by her husband James Hansen of Waterloo, IL, sons Jimmy of Waterloo, IL and Buddy (Kelley) of Swansea, IL, stepdaughter Shannon Bosworth, grandchildren Sarah (Doug) Putkowski of Waterloo, IL, Rachael (Nick) Fannon of Waterloo, IL, Jessica Keller of Waterloo, IL, Clayton and Jake Keller of Swansea, IL, Ricky (Becca) Hansen of Waterloo, IL, Emily Shank of Belleville, IL, great grandkids Charlotte, Frankie, Connor, and Lucas, nephews Jeff (Pam) Cerneka of Buford, GA and Chris of Los Angeles, CA, great nieces and nephew Carly, Sydney, and Jake of Buford, GA, and several other cousins, loved ones, and friends.

During her lifetime she had worked at Schnuck’s grocery store, holding a number of roles with the longest being as a merchandiser. She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids, going shopping, and cheering on the Dallas Cowboys with a Pepsi in her hand.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 pm on Thursday, July 6th, 2023 at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Funeral will be at 1:00 pm on Thursday, July 6th, 2023 at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Interment will follow in Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, IL.

Memorials may be made to the Breast Cancer Foundation or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
