Glandola “Dodie” J. Saul, 85, born on May 17, 1928 passed away peacefully on April 22, 2014 at her residence in Belleville, IL. Dodie was a member of the Apostolic Church in Belleville and Glad Tidings Church in Swansea. She loved her word search books, crocheting, and was inspired by Jimmy Swaggart. Dodie enjoyed collecting and displaying family photos as she really loved her family. Dodie was proud of her cooking and has a fabulous collection of recipes. She will be dearly missed.
Mrs. Saul is preceded in death by her parents, Realas and Desta (nee Hurt) Martin; husband, Norman C. Saul; her sisters, Edna, Gertie, and Eula; and a brother Willard.
She is survived by her children, Terry (Robena) Keck of Freeburg, IL and Linda Harris of Belleville, IL; stepchildren, Norman, Donna, Donald, and Yvonne; 6 grandchildren, Kenny (Lori) Harris, Abby (Bryant) Harris, Joshua Harris, Ashley (Tim) Harris, Keith Keck, and Lindsay (Clint) Forsythe; and many step grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and many step great grandchildren; and her longtime friends, Merle and Audrey.
Friends may call on Monday, April 28, 2014 from 10 am to 11:30 am at Valhalla-Gaerdner-Holten Funeral Home with a service at 11:30 am. Interment is at Valhalla Gardens of Memory.
