Mr. Winter was employed for 38 years as a Pipefitter at Monsanto in Sauget, IL, retiring in 1986. He volunteered with the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary in Belleville, was a member of the Square Dance Club, and ushered at the Fox Theatre in St. Louis.
James is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Betty, nee Reynolds, his parents Louis and Helen (nee Schamoni) Winter; his brother, Kenneth Winter, and his sister, Doris Vodde.
Surviving is daughters, Peggy Winter, Florissant, MO, Mary (Charles) McEndree, Benton, IL, and Patricia Winter, Louisville, KY; two grandsons, Aaron (Mary) Sellers and Nathan Sellers; and great granddaughter Addison Sellers
