

Jimmy L. Gallion, 77, of Donnellson, IL passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2026. He is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Victoria (nee Edsall) Gallion; his daughter in law, Sue Gallion; brother, Carl Gallion; and his parents, Rufus and Mildred (nee Bridger) Gallion.
Left to mourn Jimmy’s passing is his children, James Gallion of Ramsey, IL, Jerry (Kelly) Gallion of Polo, MO, and Jeremy (Kim) Gallion of Demotte, IN; grandchildren, Cheyenne (Tyler) Huber, Jakob Gallion, Jerek (Caileigh) Gallion, Kelsey Gallion and David Hughes; and great granddaughter, Sophie Ray Gallion; sister in law, Martha Gallion; niece, and Barb (Steve) Zobrist
Jimmy was a proud member of the US Army and a true patriot. He enlisted in 1965 and specialized as a wireman during the Vietnam conflict. He earned a National Defenses Services medal, Vietnam Service medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and bars for Overseas Service and Marksman. Jimmy was honorably discharged in 1968 and married the love of his life on March 14, 1969 at Lansdowne Church of Christ in E. St. Louis.
Jimmy and Victoria raised their sons and family was everything to them. Jimmy had a successful career as an auto worker and had a love for classic cars and enjoyed working on and showing many of them. As the family grew generations, Jimmy and Victoria remained very active with their children and grandchildren. They were blessed recently with a great granddaughter and she brought new light into their lives. Jimmy will be forever remembered by those who knew and loved him.
Friends may visit on Wednesday, May 27 from 4-8 pm at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, 3412 Frank Scott Pkwy W, Belleville, IL 62223. The funeral service is on Thursday, May 28 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home after which Jimmy will be laid to rest beside his wife at Valhalla Gardens of Memory.
