John Paul Polizzi

John was born March 4, 1952 in St. Louis, MO of Phillip and Theresa (Bono) Polizzi.

He met his high school sweetheart, Elaine at Mercy High School in 1969. They were married in 1982. She survives and resides in Waterloo, IL.

Also surviving are their children, Samantha (Travis) Kennedy of Belleville, IL and his favorite son, Matthew Polizzi of St. Louis, MO; grandchildren, Paige, Genevieve and Travis Kennedy; siblings, Mary (Ken) Schroeder of Ballwin, MO and Phil Polizzi of Wildwood, MO; sister-in-law, Karen Polizzi; and his beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.. far too many to list.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip and Theresa Polizzi; siblings, Vince (Dottie) Polizzi and Pete Polizzi; and sister-in-law, Pim Polizzi.

John was an autobody technician for over 45 years. He was a firearm and knife enthusiast and enjoyed bass fishing and tournaments. He loved dogs, especially his special buddy, 'Buttons'. John enjoyed working outside and keeping their yard looking beautiful. He loved Elaine’s cooking, especially her homemade pasta dishes.

John enjoyed meeting and visiting with people, he could truly make friends anywhere. He always made himself available to help family and friends. He will dearly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family has entrusted Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home in Belleville, IL with cremation arrangements.
