Karen K. Koesterer

Karen was born April 8, 1943 in Belleville, IL to Willard and Evelyn (Westwood) Cook. They preceded her in death.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Martin Koesterer and her daughter, Kara Lyn Tauchert.

Karen is survived by her children, Kerry (Scott) Naccarato, Terry (Dennis) Dixon and Timothy (Tina) Tiren; grandchildren, Terry, Logan, Savannah and Michael; her siblings, Ralph (Darlene) Cook, Janice (Gerald “Bud”) Walters, Patricia (John) Creamer, Shirley (Robert) Poole, and Randall (Diane) Cook of Belleville, IL; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Karen always found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved canoeing, traveling to new places, being outdoors, and, most of all, spending time with her family. Karen’s kindness, adventurous spirit, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her memory will live on through the love she shared and the moments she created with those closest to her.

A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026 from 10:00 A.M.- 12:00 P.M., with a memorial service beginning at 12:00 PM. Services will be held at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, IL. Pastor Doug Hargrave will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
