

Mr. Tiemann retired from Boatman’s National Bank after 40 years, rising through the corporate world from the mailroom to the boardroom. After his tenure in the financial world he then devoted his time to Proud Partner through the Belleville Chamber of Commerce. In 1991 he served as President of the Greater East St. Louis Fund and continued working with this program until 2011. Tiemann also, was the first Chairman of the Shiloh Police Commission and served in this capacity for 11 years. But the job that was the joy of his life was working as a “Host” at the Caseyville Cracker Barrel.
Louis served his country proudly in the United States Army as Secretary to the Commanding General of the 3rd Infantry of the 45th Division in Korea.
Louis was preceded in death by his son, John Louis Tiemann; parents, Henry J. and Ethel, nee Phillips Tiemann; his brothers, Henry, Charles, William, Theodore, Lorraine (Boop) and Paul Tiemann; sisters, Caroline Baldridge, Louise May, Ethel “Mona” Howe and Ethel Mae Hendrix .
Surviving is his loving wife of 58 years, Joyce A., nee Jackson, Tiemann; sons, Mark (Debbie) Tiemann, Klay (Julie) Tiemann and daughter, Jill Hinrichs; special friend Alan McAtee; grandchildren, Phillip (Keshia) Tiemann, Tyler (Julie) Tiemann, Taylor Tiemann, Courtney (Josh) Luecking, Mallory ( special friend, Rick Verceles)Tiemann, Lauren Binder, Derek (Hillary) Hinrichs and Daniel Hinrichs; great granddaughter, Madeline Tiemann and a sister, Lillie Hasenstab.
His grandchildren were the light of his life whether it was going to their sporting events, family get togethers or just talking on the phone he looked forward to each and every contact with them. He was just “Louie” not grandpa! The family wishes to give a special Thank you, to Matt, Kelly, Jane and Brandon of Family Hospice for the care and support of Mr. Tiemann.

Visitation: Friends may call from 11 to 3 pm. on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at the Union United Methodist Church, 721 East Main, Belleville, IL. A Celebration of Life Service for Louis Tiemann will be held at 3 pm at the church, with Pastor Ed Weston officiating.
