

She enjoyed spending time with her beloved children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her sisters as well as playing Bunco with her friends. She and her late husband were part owners of the LeChateau Ice Rink in Belleville, Ill. Margaret was a lifetime member of St Michael’s Catholic Church. She retired from the Officer’s Club at Scott AFB where she was Head Cashier.
Margaret was preceded in death by her loving husband, Clifton R. Burgess, Sr.; parents, Walter and Margaret, nee Laughlin, Coleman; two grandchildren, Sean and Kelly; a brother, Ray Coleman; and two sisters, Mary (Ervin) Kuenehoff, and Joan (Fred, Sr.) Madden.
Surviving are her children, Clifton R. (Margaret) Burgess, Jr of Marissa, IL, and Patricia Schreiber of Granite City, IL; two grandchildren, Kyle Schreiber and Chad Bateman; seven great grandchildren; and four sisters, Sarah Burgess, Gertrude (Carl) Werner, Rose Ann Weilmuenster, and Jane Coleman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials in Margaret’s name may be made to St Michael’s Catholic Church, Paderborn, Ill., or the American Cancer Society.
Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at St Michael’s Catholic Church, with Father Jim officiating.
