Marilyn Lee Cox, 72, of Alton, IL passed away on September 16, 2023. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Helen Cox; sister, Judith Voss; and two ex-husbands, James Williams and Jeffrey Crader. Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Shelly (Romer) Arena; son, John (the late Kelly Kopp) Williams; and grandchildren, Raven Krull, John Williams II, and Katelynn Taylor.
Marilyn was a loving mother and grandmother who had a special passion for life. She worked hard in the restaurant business as a manager and an owner. She retired from Scott Air Force Base where she cooked for the Childhood Center. Marilyn loved to cook and dance and be the life of the party. She also enjoyed camping and floating on the rivers. She was very patriotic and served as a member of the Eight And Forty women’s group through the American Legion where she was a member for many years and assisted with the organization any way she could. She loved working in their kitchen on Bingo nights. Marilyn enjoyed spending time with the little ones because it helped to keep her young. Her kindness, energy, and spunk will be missed!
