Mary E. Simmons, nee Taylor, 87, of Belleville, Illinois, born March 11, 1933, in Patton, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at home.
Mary worked as a Real Estate secretary for multiple offices in Belleville. She loved to bake; especially birthday cakes for her grandchildren. She enjoyed crafting, sewing and crocheting. Her most precious moments were spent with her children and grandchildren. She was a loving mother and grandmother, who will truly be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Bennett and Carrie Ellen, nee Webb, Taylor; a sister, Dorothy Mae Taylor; a brother, William Lee Taylor; and a grandson, Richard Russell.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Linda Russell, Kenny (Cindy) Simmons, Karen Venarde, Janet (Terry) Field, and Daniel Simmons; her 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; and 8 great-great grandchildren; and many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral: Due to current Covid-19 mitigations, services are being held privately with Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, Illinois. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.
