Norman W. Wegescheide

Norman W. Wegescheide, age 97, of Belleville, Illinois passed away on Monday February 12, 2018 at Oak Hill in Waterloo, IL. Norman was born April 7, 1920 to Joseph Wegescheide and Emma Wegescheide (nee Worms).

Norman was preceded in death by his parents Joseph Wegescheide and Emma Wegescheide (nee Worms); his wife, Irene Wegescheide (nee Darr); brother, Warren Wegescheide; and brother-in-law, Von F. Berger.

Norman is survived by son, Michael (Jacqueline) Wegescheide; daughter, Cindy (Terry) Keller; sister, Melva Berger; sister-in-law, Agnes Wegescheide; grandchildren, Christine (Steven) Pipik, Rebecca (Richard) Ruhman,and Michael (Jessica) Wegescheide II; step grandchildren, Abigail Keller and Caitlan Keller; great grandchildren Joseph Pipik, Lilianna Ruhman, Andrew Wegescheide and Lincoln Wegescheide.

The family would like to give special thanks to the Nursing Staff at Oak Hill for their kind and compassionate care.

Norman was a long time member of the Millstadt Sportsmen's Club and served multiple terms as president. Norman and his wife were avid campers with their circle of friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Millstadt Sportsmen's Club.

A visitation for Norman will be held Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, 3412 Frank Scott Parkway, Belleville, Illinois 62223. A funeral service will occur Friday, February 16, 2018 at 10:00 AM, 3412 Frank Scott Parkway, Belleville, Illinois 62223. Burial to follow at Valhalla Gardens of Memory, 3412 Frank Scott Parkway, Belleville, Illinois 62223.
