

Patrick was born in Longview Washington on May 7th, 1941, to Earl and Ruth (Enke) McAndrews. He graduated from San Diego High in 1959 and went on to serve in the United States Air Force. It was then, while stationed at Scott AFB, Belleville, Il, that he met his wife, the former Donna Smith. They were married on April 4th,1964 at St Phillips Church, East St Louis, Il., and went on to have two daughters, Kimberly and Kendra.
A car enthusiast and talented body man, Pat was the owner and operator of Belle Clair Auto Body in downtown Belleville, Il, for 25 yrs. He retired from Pontiac William Holliday District 105, a job that he truly loved and took pride in. Known around school as Mr. Pat, he treasured his relationships with both the kids and teachers and loved being their go-to for all things that needed "fixing".
Patrick served as the Fairview Heights VFW Post 8677 Commander from 2006 to 2011. He marched with the Ainad Color Guard and was a long time committee member and volunteer with the Fairview Heights Homecoming Association.
What Patrick cherished most in life were his girls. He was the ultimate provider, protector, confidant, friend, and always kept everyone laughing, His favorite times were Sunday dinners, when his kids and grandkids spent the day at 'Nana and Pawpaw's' house.
Often referred to as everyone's second Dad, Patrick always found time for those that needed him. He was the life of our party and will be missed beyond words.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna McAndrews; daughter, Kimberly Thompson; his parents, Earl and Ruth McAndrews; and sister, Ruth McAndrews Corey.
Surviving is his daughter, Kendra McAndrews of Millstadt, Il; son-in-law and best friend, Mark Thompson of New Baden, Il; brother, Robert McAndrews and sister-in-law Susan of Carlsbad, CA; grandchildren, Hayley Jones (William) of Noblesville, IN, Brenden Thompson of New Baden Il, and great-grandson, Hayden Jones of Noblesville, IN.
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025 from 4:00 P.M.- 8:00 P.M. at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, IL. There will be an Ainad Color Guard walk through from 6:00 P.M.-6:15 P.M.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 10:30 A.M. at the funeral home. Reverend Mark Burgdorf will officiate. Interment will follow at Valhalla Gardens of Memory in Belleville, where military honors will be rendered.
