

Mr. Phillips retired as a Budget Analyst with the U. S. Army after a long and successful career. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during the Korean War. He was an avid record collector and reader but his greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren, all of whom enriched his life.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Florence, nee Neuner, Phillips; and one sister Loretta Stewart.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Gerry, nee Morrison, Phillips of Belleville, a son Larry (Kathy) Phillips of Phoenix, AZ; three daughters Beverly (Steve) Meister of Belleville, Judy (Ed) Beussink of Millstadt and Cindy (Jeff) Hettenhausen of Millstadt; 10 grandchildren Holly and Thomas Phillips, Philip (Stacy) Meister, Matt (Kara) Meister, Amy Meister, Brett and Joe Beussink, Jacob, Cade, and James Hettenhausen; three great-grandchildren Sabrina, Jeremy and Henry Meister; three sisters Gerry Oexner, Sally (Robert) Richter, and Mary (Roger) Munie; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation: A private visitation for family will be Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010 from 11:00 am till 1:00 pm at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill.
Funeral Service: A private family funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010 at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill., with Fr. James Blazine officiating.
Interment will take place in Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, Ill.
