Sandra Grace Prost

She is preceded in death by her parents; Father, James Mooney and Mother, Grace (Austin) Back, grandparents George and Anne Becker, brother Michael (Theresa) Mooney, brother Douglas Collins, niece Stephanie Mooney, and brother-in-law, Timothy Prost (Diane).

Sandra is remembered by her husband, David Prost of Collinsville, Illinois, her children, Michelle Thomas of Caseyville, Illinois and Elizabeth Prost of Caseyville, Illinois and grandchildren Dominic and Tori Barrett and Emelia Mitchell. Stepmom Bunny Mooney. Brothers: George (Karen) Mooney, Tony (Ginger) Mooney, Anthony (Becky) Antonellis. Sisters: Marla (John) Mooney, Mary (Doug) Yocks, Pam (Rick) Mooney-Ponder, Pam (Dean) Runyon, Desiree (Jason) Marcone, Quinette (Craig Schwab) Back. Mother-in-law Betty Prost; In-laws: Joe Prost, Bill (Edie) Prost, Cathy (Jim) Siegel, Tom (Nicky) Prost, Don Prost, Patty (Ron) Trujillo, Marie (Matt) Shellenberg, John Prost. As well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

During her lifetime Sandra was a co-owner/secretary at Prost Heating & Cooling. She enjoyed creating stain glass pieces, fishing at Rend Lake at her favorite fishing holes, hosting family gatherings at their house, going on shopping adventures with her daughters and grandchildren, and cooking dinners for her family and friends. She enjoyed a good Euchre game, working in her yard, and spending any available time with her family. She loved her family more than anything. She would tell you, “Family is everything, it’s all you truly have in this life.” She loved caring for stray animals and eventually taking them in as her own. She is going to be missed by many.

Memorial Gathering will be from 9:00 am to 11:00 am on Sunday, March 3, 2024 at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, Illinois.

Memorial Service will be at 11:00 am on Sunday, March 3,2024 at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, Illinois.

Placement of Cremation will be private and at a later date.
