Terry J. Crabtree

Terry graduated from Belleville West High School in 1966 and attended SWIC. He married his wife, Sue, at First Baptist Church in Smithton, IL on October 24, 1981. Terry worked as an insurance agent at Prudential Financial for 35+ years. He enjoyed playing softball, golfing, and trips to the lake; but above all else, he treasured spending time with his family. He helped care for his parents, he loved to travel with his family, and he never missed his grandkids’ sporting events. He was incredibly proud of his children and grandchildren and all they’ve accomplished. He loved to laugh and hang out with his baseball buddies (who he met up with annually). Terry was an extremely thoughtful, fun, and loving man who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul O. Crabtree, Sr. and Emma Jean (nee Legg) Crabtree, and his great-grandson, Aiden.

Surviving to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 41 years, Susan K. (nee Allsup) Crabtree; daughters, Jody (Jim) Lohse, Megan (David) Hughes, and Michele Berthot; grandchildren, Ian, Ella, Parker, Brandon, Kaitlyn, and Evan; great-grandchildren, Meleah and Eli; siblings, Paul (Elaine) Crabtree, Reick (Glenda) Crabtree, and Sheryll (Ron) York; grand-pups, Milo, Cash, and Clifton; plus numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Per Terry’s wishes, he will be cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held at Fletcher’s Kitchen & Tap, 1524 Clinton Hills Parkway, Swansea, IL 62226, on Saturday, June 3, 2023 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM in the lower level of the restaurant.
