Betty Jane Schall passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 9, 2015, at home with family in Bothell, Washington. She would have been 69 years old on January 11, 2015. Betty’s self-written obituary is as follows. “I have had a beautiful life and I want to thank all of those who have contributed to it. I am grateful to my wonderful husband Larry, my beloved sons Michael and Adam, and my dear daughter-in-law Mary. My grandtwins Andrew and Catherine have added great joy to my life and I am so thankful that I was able to enjoy my time with them for six years. I thank my dear cousin Edith Spiers for all the support that she has given me throughout my illness, and for her prayers and thoughts, and express my gratitude to many other friends and family who have sent positive thoughts and energy my way. This has greatly helped me fight my illness. I owe so much to my superb team of doctors, especially Dr. Philip Gold and his entire staff, Dr. John Brandebur, and Dr. Susan Baumgaertel. I want to acknowledge the excellent care that I received at the Swedish Cancer Institute. Due to this medical support, I have lived for years longer than the normal life expectancy for my cancer, and I can never express how grateful I am for that. I will miss this wonderful world but I have had a long life with few regrets. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Swedish Cancer Institute or to Mercy Corps." Betty received her B.A. and J.D. from the University of Washington. She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Betty spent her legal career in the field of title insurance, including serving as Northwest Regional Counsel for Chicago Title Insurance Company.
