Brooks Alexander Smith arrived into this world on December 4, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., weighing 6 pounds 5 ounces—a beautiful, long-awaited son and little brother. From the moment he took his first breath, he was surrounded by an outpouring of love that never wavered.
Brooks was the cherished son of Laurie and Alex Smith, and the adored little brother of big sister Blakely. He was the beloved grandson of Rosanne and Stephen Shay, Tonya and Jim Nelson, and Michael Smith and a treasured nephew, cousin, and friend to so many whose lives he touched in his 26 precious days.
Though his time with us was brief, Brooks’ presence was profound. He fought with a quiet strength and courage that inspired everyone around him. Even while facing challenges few could imagine, he knew only tenderness—held close, spoken to softly, and loved fiercely by his parents, whose devotion wrapped him in warmth every moment. Blakely’s gentle curiosity and the family’s unwavering bond created a circle of love that carried him through.
Brooks taught us the depth of love in the smallest package. In his short life, he drew our family even closer, softened our hearts, and reminded us how fragile and sacred life truly is. His legacy is the deeper compassion we now carry, the fiercer way we hold one another, and the quiet certainty that love this pure endures forever.
We celebrate Brooks—a bright light who changed us all. He will live on in Blakely’s laughter, in the stories we share, in the tenderness we show one another, and in every moment we pause to feel grateful for the gift of his life.
Though his earthly journey was short, Brooks is now at peace, held eternally in a love greater than we can see. He will always be our little heart warrior, our son, our brother, our grandson—forever part of us, watching over us with the same gentle spirit he brought into this world.
Rest in perfect peace, sweet Brooks. You are loved beyond measure, today and always.
With enduring love,
The Smith Family
