In Loving Memory
Edmond Tusnadi passed away peacefully on February 21, 2014, surrounded by his family. He was born in Budapest, Hungary on January 10, 1938. Edmond fled Hungary in 1956, joining his father in Peoria, Illinois. There he met and married Olga Galsi in 1957, and they shared 56 years of loving marriage. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Bradley University and worked at IBM. He moved to Seattle in 1966 to work at Boeing. He earned his Master’s degree at Seattle University, and continued to work at Boeing in the Aerospace division.
Edmond really enjoyed his retirement. He took full advantage of his years, spending time with family and friends, reading, and traveling the world with Olga and their close friends. He was an avid photographer, and enjoyed bringing his photos to life through picking just the right accompanying music, mostly of the Big Band era. Edmond loved the sport of soccer, and was a coach to each of his children through their youth. His love of soccer spanned his lifetime, and he watched soccer avidly, including the Seattle Sounders, as well as all European League games and World Cup. Edmond was brilliant in mathematics and “numbers”. He was a champion at Chess, and he loved playing games, especially Bridge and Hearts. It was nearly impossible to beat him in the game of “Risk”, and he never missed completing the daily crossword. Edmond blessed all who knew him with his intelligence, sense of humor, and honesty.
He is survived by his wife Olga; children Erika Tusnadi, Zoltan Tusnadi, and Elizabeth Tusnadi Vacca. He is survived by grandchildren Kira Tusnadi, Isabella Tusnadi, Gabor Tusnadi, Conner Vacca, Samuel Vacca, and Max Vacca, and is also survived by his sister Edit Kass of Hungary.
The family will have a memorial service in celebration of Edmond’s life on March 6th, 4:30pm, at Sunset Hills Memorial Park, 1215 145th Place SE, Bellevue 98007.
Arrangements under the direction of Sunset Hills Funeral Home, Bellevue, WA.
