Elena and I first talked over a cubicle wall at a financial services firm, where we both worked some twelve years ago. We made fast friends, thrilled to have found another Ukrainian transplant in each other, whispering Soviet era jokes to each other to combat the corporate ennui. We both left our jobs but kept in touch over the years. I was happy to hear Elena was painting full-time and was blown away by her art, so full of light, and joy and life. She was a gentle soul, kind yet strong, and an amazing friend. I will always remember her warm smile and her voice, with just a hint of humor, telling me it will all be OK. Goodbye my beautiful friend.

Elena and I were artist friends together.   I will remember her glorious art and the way she was with my two dogs, Bella and Beau.  Her kindness shown through and they adored her.

I met Lena many years ago, and while we haven't seen each other often, each time we picked up right where we left of.  She was an amazing person, an amazing artist, and bright soul and I will miss her terribly.  Love you Lenochka.  Fly with the angels.

I was so blessed to have Elena as a friend and  I miss her.  I can't even begin to imagine your loss.  Every time I think of her I  say a prayer for you.  

She lives in my heart forever.

I knew Elena about 9 years and we were close friends about 5 of them. Vladimir is godfather of our child. Many many sweet memories about Elena in my heart. Now my heart is crying for this beautiful soul. I can't to believe. RIP Elena and deep condolences, Vladimir.

It is with great sorrow I am writing this memory. I met Elena as a member of a dog club where we enjoyed every Sunday with the people at the club training with their dogs. Elena and I would chat about life, the weather (lots to chat about in the Pacific Northwest PNW) and how our lives were winding along the road of life. My wife (Mary) also would enjoy talking while sitting around waiting for your turn to work your dog. Needless to say over a long period we had lots of time together. After that we stayed in touch on FB and email. I so loved her art work. I used to comment on everything that was shared. The world has lost a friend of Earth and it’s beauty. Elena often touched our hearts with her warm and happy personality. Condolences to all... Paddy

Vladimir, please accept my deepest condolences for this unexplainable, unimaginable, tragic loss ...Lenochka always will be in my heart, in my soul, in my thoughts. I lost a beautiful friend, a painting buddy, a studio mate and an incredibly talented artist! A Soul  beautiful inside and out!

Dear Vladimir,
We are shocked and saddened to see that the world has lost Elena. We are so sorry for your loss.

We met Elena almost 20 years ago at a watercolor workshop. Who would have known what an accomplished artist she would become! Elena was a unique and courageous person to have traveled across the world to start a new life in the United States. We were lucky to have met her. 

Elena was intelligent, friendly, funny, caring, kind-hearted, forthright, honest and a dog lover as well (lucky dogs!)  There are some people that leave a special footprint when they leave, one that nobody else can fill. She made the world a better place and we are deeply saddened to know she's moved on.

I hope there is a Heaven where the good guys go...because Elena will be there....She was one of the "good guys" and will be sorely missed.

I remember Elena as full of grace and joy. I feel lucky to own a few of her paintings and to have had my studio filled with her work on display.  Her art, and her love for it, had a glow and warmth to them.  They and she hold a special place in the hearts of all who I ever shared it. We both felt blessed by knowing her.
