

Evelyn Sidell died peacefully on June 2nd, 2012, surrounded by her family. Evelyn was born on July 31st, 1928 in Seattle. Evelyn spent her childhood in Nome, Alaska and Seattle. She moved to Seattle permanently when she was in High School. She graduated from Garfield High School and attended the University of Washington.
In 1948, she married her lifelong sweetheart, Merle. Evelyn was committed to her family and community. She volunteered and held board positions for Hadassah and City of Hope. She also spent many hours participating in “hands-on” volunteer activities at the Kline Galland home, Hadassah nearly new shop, and at her temple. Evelyn enjoyed travelling with Merle, playing bridge and mahjong, and spending time with her family. She was a voracious reader and a life-long learner.
She is survived by her children, Bruce (Karen) Sidell, Brent Sidell and Carol (Peter) Michel; five grandchildren, and three great-granddaughters. Memorial donations may be made to Jewish Family Service, Temple Beth Am, or the Kline Galland Home.
