Our dear Fanny Pere passed away on November 26, 2023 at the remarkable age of 108. She was born in 1915, in Brooklyn, New York, to Rachel and Nathan Katz. Fanny was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 60 years, Harry Pere; and was also predeceased by her siblings, Julius Katz, Molly Jacobs, Goldie Goldwyn, and Max Katz.
Fanny's life was filled with countless joyous moments and milestones with her family of many generations. She is survived by her children, David Pere (Jane), Peter Pere (Molly), and Nancy Prolman (Robert); seven grandchildren, Jeffrey Pere (Jennifer), Robert Pere (Dinnah), Stephen Pere, Jennifer Pere, Merritt Hennessey, Justin Pere (Hanna), and Joshua Kout; twelve great-grandchildren, Jessica, Hannah, Brooke, Malia, Harrison, Olivia, Elle, Miles, Claire, Owen, Scarlet, and Lola; and five great-great-grandchildren, Jeffrey Jr., Daniel, Caleb, Carter, and Kylee.
Beyond her dedication to family, Fanny found deep fulfillment through her passions for religious and language studies, portrait painting, and writing. Her many abilities and talents enabled her to continually learn and to express her creative spirit.
Fanny always held a warm smile and a wonderful sense of humor. Her memory will forever be cherished by her family and friends. May she rest in peace, knowing that her legacy lives on through the generations she touched.
