Genie passed away June 7, 2016, in Bellevue at the age of 69. She was born on October 4, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Hubert and Theresa King. She graduated from Oak Park High School and then attended the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign where she met her future husband Brian Dickerson. They were married during the great Chicago snowstorm, February 4, 1967 in Oak Park. Following the marriage, she joined Brian in Seattle and transferred to the University of Washington. Upon graduation, she received her Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts and Science diploma from the University of Illinois on February 15, 1968. Her favorite activities included free lance writing, horseback riding, skiing, walking, sewing, cooking, gardening, and playing her piano. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Louise De Marillac Parish, 141 156th Ave SE, Bellevue. Interment will be held at Sunset Hills Memorial Park, 1215 145th Place SE, Bellevue at 2:30 p.m. Arrangements by Sunset Hills Memorial Park and Funeral Home.
