

Jack was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He graduated from North Central HS (Spokane) in 1942 and joined the Army Air Corps. Jack served as a bombardier in WWII, flying 29 B17 missions, with an honorable discharge in 1944. After graduating from U of Idaho, he married Maxine (Rowland) Erlandson in 1947 and they raised two sons, E(ric) and Brad. Many wonderful memories were created spending weekends and holidays with friends and family at the Cle Elum cabin along the Yakima River.
Jack was active in the retail food industry & owned a brokerage firm in Bellevue, WA After retirement, he & Maxine made the cabin their home. A man of many talents, Jack loved sports, Husky football and playing softball on Cle Elum teams.
After Maxine’s passing in 1994, Jack remained in Cle Elum. He married Phyllis (Poulin) Erlandson and they enjoyed their time with traveling and boating until her passing in 2001.
Jack set and accomplished big goals for himself. He completed the Hawaii marathon at age 81 and won two world Gold weight-lifting titles at age 82 and 83.
A cardiac arrest in 2011, while playing tennis, changed the direction of his life. He recovered as best as possible but the effects of the injury ultimately took his life.
We will remember his great sense of humor, his devotion to his family and the spark in those blue eyes.
