Jewel was a caring wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother “Grandma Sweetheart” to her
grandchildren. She graduated from Alexandria High School in 1942 and married Leo, her husband, the same year. They were married 52 years. Jewel co-owned a salon (Sher-ell’s) with her daughter, Sherry. She was actively involved in the First Baptist church and an active member of Omega Nu Tau Sorority, a philanthropic organization.
She moved to Seattle with husband in 1968. Jewel worked part time at Frederick & Nelson as receptionist in their hair salon and in later years she volunteered at Overlake Hospital working in the gift shop. She was an avid reader, a master at crossword puzzles and much loved for her pie baking skills.
Jewel is survived by Sherry Bode (daughter), James Loveless (son), 3 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Maria Bene (Horizon Heights) for her love, care and compassion she showed our Mother over the last 9 years and in her final days.
