On Thursday, November 13, our mother, Margaret A. Lane left us to join her husband Bill (Charles W. Lane), mother, father and other family and dear friends in heaven. Time and natural causes took her on her final journey. Margaret was 89 years old and was born in Kansas City, Missouri. She, with her family, lived in Bellevue for nearly 60 years. Margaret is survived by her daughter, Patricia A. Lane, sons Richard B. and William H. Lane and daughters-in-law, Jean and Elaine Lane.
Margaret’s life was dedicated to fulfilling the role of wife and mother which she did with love and devotion. She had many friends with whom she enjoyed playing bridge, walking and entertaining. Among her favorite events of every year were Christmas and SeaFair for which she and her husband hosted their friends to joy and fun-filled parties. Several dogs brought her warmth and cheer over the years from her childhood dog Bonzo to Nikki and Molly. Over the 60 years in Bellevue, Margaret sought and received spiritual fulfillment through her church affiliations first with the Bellevue Congregational Church then with Westminster Chapel that she attended from the time it was truly a small chapel in the woods to the large Christian-focused church that it is today. Bible study groups at Westminster gave her strength upon the passing of her husband in 2002.
Margaret’s family expresses its sincere gratitude to the staff at Sunrise Senior Living of Bellevue who provided a comfortable, safe and caring home for Margaret in the last few years of her life and requests that any flowers or other remembrances be directed to Sunrise or Westminster Chapel where they can be enjoyed by those who brought comfort to her in many forms.
