Nancy A. Bell from Bellevue passed away surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, May 29, 2013. She was the daughter of Nan & Hugh Williams and was born on December 20, 1931 in Seattle’s Providence Hospital. Nancy was the granddaughter of Walter Williams, one of the founders of the city of Kirkland. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years Ralph P. Bell and survived by daughters Judy and Diane (Randy), sons Jerry (Arneta), David (Carolyn) and Stephen (Linda), grandchildren Ryan (Jessica), Kevin (Katie), Annie (Jess), Stacy (Thresia), Tommy, Stephanie and Julia and great-grandchildren Elizabeth, Max, Julian and Violet. Gathering friends was Nancy’s pastime and she had many. She had close friends from her school days at Madrona Elementary and Holy Names Academy, from her more than 50 years of involvement with Sacred Heart Parish (everything from working in the kitchen on "Hot Dog Day" to serving communion to the home-bound), from the years working at the Christmas House store in old Bellevue (she was the self-described expert in Dept. 56 Christmas houses), from the tennis group at the Bellevue Athletic Club, from the recently disbanded investment club and from the ranks of checkers from her daily visits to QFC. Not to mention the various acquaintances she came across in her day, particularly infants and toddlers who were just a glance away from their new best friend.
