

Reed William Warren moved on to be with the Lord on April 8, 2017. Reed was born in Omaha, Nebraska on November 29, 1935, the son of Rose Dora Sides Warren and Gerald Arnold Warren. He attended Lothrup, Clifton Hill, and Central Park grade schools, graduating in 1949. He was baptized in 1948 at the Central Park Congregational Church. He graduated from Omaha, Nebraska North High School in 1953, and attended the Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, majoring in chemistry. He worked as a chemical laboratory technician for Allied Chemical Corporation in La Platte, Nebraska and resided in Bellevue, Nebraska with his wife Nancy Ruth York Warren whom he survived. He enlisted in the Air National Guard and served as an aircraft electronics tech for the F-86D and later as a teletype maintenance tech. Reed married Karen Theda Jacobson Schafer in 1960 and moved to Seattle, Washington in 1961. He worked for Industrial Plating Corp. Seattle, Sundstrand Data Control (United Control) Redmond, Honeywell Marine Systems Seattle, Sales Engineer for Allied-Kelite Chemical Corp. Seattle, Chief Manufacturing Engineer for Electronic Specialty Corp. Portland/Vancouver Washington, Manufacturing Engineer for Cadet Manufacturing Vancouver Washington, and Industrial Engineering Manager for Pyro Industries (Lennox Hearth Product) in Burlington, Washington. Reed was born again and baptized in the Holy Spirit in 1975. He was a charter member of the Redmond Jaycees and a member of the Redmond City Council.
Reed is survived by brother Kent Richard Warren of La Center, Washington; sons Jerry Arnold Warren of Bellingham, Washington and Randy William Warren of Woodinville, Washington; daughters Vicki Lynn Mathes of Redmond, Washington and Wendy Lou Hatfield of Beardstown, Illinois.
Services will be held at Sunset Hills Funeral Home, Bellevue at 1:00 PM on April 13. Interment will following at 2:30 PM at Cedar Lawns Cemetery. After the funeral a bon voyage party will be held at BJ’s Restaurant, 7211 166th Ave NE, Redmond, WA 98052 to celebrate Reed’s flight to Heaven.
