Shane Clark Sullivan lived passionately, loved completely and cherished loyally his wife Heather, and his two daughters Madeline (8) and Holly (6), and their dog, Buster. We lost Shane, 39, on Friday, March 19, when the plane he was piloting went down on his way home to Bellevue from a business trip. Shane’s family and friends will miss him dearly.
Shane was a dedicated and loving father and husband. He cherished spending time with his two girls. He loved teaching and playing with them daily, and coaching their sports teams. Heather will miss Shane dearly; he was her true soul mate who took her breath away every day. Heather will cherish her memories of Shane and feels blessed to have been able to spend 12 wonderful years with him.
Friends remember Shane’s gentle manner, wonderful sense of humor and ability to make you feel welcome with a warm smile. He was generous with his time, his home and his incredible pizza making skills. He said what he felt in few words and somehow always saw the brightest in every situation. Shane was a silent leader that exuded confidence and wisdom beyond his years, and he was deeply committed to the many things he took on in life. He was very successful in living life to the fullest each day and brought many friends and family along for the wonderful ride.
Shane loved to fly. His love of airplanes started in 3rd grade when he won the paper airplane flying contest. Shane’s interest of airplanes blossomed into a full blown passion reaching the goal of owning and flying his own plane. He attended Washtucna High School and was known as Sully to his high school friends. Shane graduated from Washington State University, where he was a member of Alpha Gamma Ro.
He began his insurance career at A. J. Gallagher in Bellevue, WA. At the age of 31, Shane ventured off to begin his own company, Cascade Risk Placement, with his wife, Heather. He was able to take a three man shop to 28 employees with 2 offices in a short time. Shane was highly successful due to his diligence, integrity, and ability to focus on business while never forgetting to balance his work with his family.
Shane was born in Colfax, WA on November 30, 1970 to Clark and Carol Sullivan. Shane is also survived by his sister Sharon McKies of Lacrosse, WA, sister Evon Jones of Lacrosse, WA, sister Debbie Kelley of Snohomish, WA, father-in-law and mother-in-law Dennis and Arlene Blewitt of Boulder, CO, sister-in-law Denise Neumann of Manassas, VA, and brother-in-law Blake Blewitt of Golden, CO. Shane also leaves many adoring nieces and nephews who loved their uncle.
