

Devoted stepfather, Horace D. (“Dave”) Butler, age 89, passed away peacefully, with his wife and step-daughters by his side, on December 16, 2016, in Tucson, AZ.
Suzanne is survived by her daughters: Michele (David) Vossler and Paula (Daniel) Fraser, five grandchildren: Erica (Austin) Scott, Benjie Fraser, Jon Vossler, Bettina (Jaimi) Vossler, Belinda (Gavin) Vossler, three great-grandchildren: Eliana, Emery and Felix, and several treasured nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by Michael Janis, father of her children, by her second husband, Horace “Dave” Butler, loving stepdad and grandparent to all, and by sisters June Haenszel and Shirley Jerge Keller of Buffalo, NY.
Dave is survived by his brother, John Homer Butler, Jr. (“Buddy”) and sister Jean Kimball of Garland, NC. Dave is preceded in death by first wife, Margie, his mother, Louise DeWitt, and 5 sisters.
SFC Horace Butler served his country proudly for over 20 years in the US Army. He was the nicest drill sergeant you ever met. Suzanne held clerical, lab technician and optician jobs. She loved arts and crafts of all kinds, and was our Girl Scout leader like her mother before her.
Suzanne and Dave Butler will be buried together with military honors at Sunset Hills Memorial Park, on November 9, 2024 at 10:30 am. Luncheon to follow. Contact Michele or Paula for details and/or Zoom link.
