Yuhua Su, a beloved wife, mother and friend, who lived a simple but extraordinary life, went to heaven on September 21th, 2022 after she conquered Mt. Whitney, 14,505 ft (4,421 m), one of her dream hiking places.
Yuhua was born on November 8th, 1972, in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, China. She was the youngest of three amazing siblings: Feng and Jian. They had a wonderful bond of love for each other, which laid the foundation for her kindness and caring for friends and families.
Yuhua graduated from Wuchang High School in 1992, and attended Heilongjiang University where she earned a bachelor degree in 1995. Like many young people of her age, she migrated to Beijing (BeiPiao) in search of opportunities and dreams where she earned a MBA in Chinese Academy of Sciences and had a successful career as an Executive Assistant in Beijing ZhengHeFang Planning Company (1995 - 1999), Product Manager in Jinwei Medical Network Engineering Company (1999 - 2001), and Oriental Satellite Network Technology Company (2001- 2003), all while making a lot of friends along the way.
After being introduced to Jianguo Chen, they fell in love. On January 10, 2003, they were wed. In the same year, Yuhua moved to the USA to join her husband. Since then, she poured her heart and soul into raising a wonderful daughter, Cindy Chen, and a handsome cat, Simba. She was the core of the family, and will be loved forever!
Yuhua was the hub of friends. As one of the kindest, most caring and nicest people, she hosted many parties and events to bring laughter, love and friendship to people around her.
Yuhua’s love went beyond her immediate family and friends. She was the committee chair and secretary of a local non-profit organization, Little Masters Club (LMC), where she organized the annual large-scale Bike-A-Thon, managed project personnel training and administrative operation, and supported educational summer camps to China. During the pandemic, she did her part to help out the community and made the world a safer place through donating home-made masks to those in urgent needs, being socially responsible, and more.
Yuhua found a new passion in hiking in recent years. In 2020 alone, she hiked 38 trails (51 in 2021), 359 miles and 88,000 ft. Some of her favorite places were Mount Defiance, Mount Si, Mountain Rainier, Mountain Saint Helens, Granite Mountain, Mount Whitney, The Enchantments, Smith Rock State, Big Four Ice Caves, Bryce Canyon National Park, Zabriskie Point Sunrise, and Crater Lake.
Yuhua Su is survived by her Husband, Jianguo Chen, her Daughter, Cindy Chen, and the cat Simba.
