Claude W Newman

Claude “Wayne” Newman, 86, of Hemet, California, passed away on October 22, 2020. He passed away due to complications after contracting COVID-19 which progressed his underlying medical conditions.

Wayne was born in McComb, Mississippi on April 25th,1934, to father Claude Martin Newman and mother Ruby Mae Newman. Wayne was an only child who after high school joined the army and served 4 years as an MP which afforded him the opportunity to travel Europe and the middle east. After his service in the military, Wayne moved to California to be near his parents where he met the love of his life, Joan and raised his family in Norwalk. He worked 50+ years as an automotive and industrial mechanic until he retired. Wayne retired to Hemet, CA. where he loved to play golf and spend time with family and friends.

Wayne was a loving and giving man survived by his daughter Barbara and son Martin; grandchildren Toni, Mark, David, Riley and Cannon; great grandchildren Josephine, Trino, Sarah, Sahara, Mark III and Mason.

A small graveside service will be Tuesday, November 3rd, 2020 at 11am at Rose Hills Memorial Park, 3888 Workman Mill Rd, Whittier, California 90601.
