

Dorothy has 3 daughters Gale, Dorothy, and Patty. She has 7 Grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and 2 great great grandchildren on the way. She referred to us as her united nations. She was born July 19th, 1930 in her aunt Iris’ house in Pueblo Colorado. She weighed 7 pounds and was 20 inches long. She has brown hair and hazel eyes. Her father’s name is Charles Boling and her mother’s name is Nellie Boling. She has 3 siblings Betty, Gerry, and Chuck. Dorothy is the youngest out of them all. They all had to share a room together in their house. She started kindergarten in Colorado. She first traveled when she was five years old. She came to California from Colorado to join her father who was already there with her mother, and 3 siblings. They hitchhiked a ride with strangers and then took a bus the rest of the way. It took them 21 days to get there. She worked as a cook at McClellan Air Force Base in Sacramento from 1967-1968.She then was the Assistance Director at MarryHill Nursery School from 1969-1972. From 1972-1978 she ran a cafeteria in a manufacturing plant named Westloc. She then drove a catering truck from 1978-1988. She started to work at JC Penney in 1988 and retired in 2002. She traveled to Israel with her father and sister Gerry in 1982.This was one of the best times of her life, she felt very blessed. Dorothy Murphy was a wonderful woman and was a blessing to everyone. Whenever someone was in need she would help them.
