When I was invited to my friend's wedding it was the first true Mexican wedding I would be going to and only knew the bride and her daughters. I knew I would be the only white person there which I was used to by this point, but I wanted someone who would help explain everything, translate and enjoy the whole thing with me. I asked mom to join and of course she said yes right away. It was so fun celebrating my good friend and having Mom there. She got dressed up, let me know what was happening during the ceremony, explained the traditional games, dances, and things that were happening during the reception. She enjoyed the Birria and then joined me in dancing and kept up while everyone was in a line holding on to each other dancing and running around the dance floor and through the tables. It was so fun and she always made sure I never felt left out or that I was the only white person in the room. But of course she would always joke around about how white I am but Mexican on the inside lol an honorary Mexican. She also always was so proud to introduce me as her daughter and I never doubted her love for me even during our mom daughter like arguments and fights I knew and she knew we would always be there for one another and Mom always did and would do anything she could for the people she loved. I'm so grateful to have had my Mexican Mama and that she got to see me have her first granddaughter. I'm forever blessed because Mama Carmen entered my life, accepted me into hers, and loved me as her own. 🥰🤍🙏🏻

Mom was always up for an adventure and going out to eat. She could be picky about her food but every meal with her was a memory. She loves her first Grand baby PJ and would spoil him like crazy. We would always have fun when the family came together mostly likely ending up with someone laughing till they almost peed their pants. Lol

Because of Mom, Carmen, I have one of the most beautiful blessings in my life. You had your beautiful children which led to me meeting Marcos, to spending the last 12 years as family, gaining so many beautiful things like my nephews and daughter.

Where do i start, preschool where we would meet in the corner and wait for the bus as we sang Juan Gabriel songs (el noa noa) at your house or mine playing while our parents visited eachother. Lost track of you for many years then ended up closer than ever! My confident, best friend we cried together loved to talk about our grandchildren and how proud we were! I miss you so very much! I miss your funny comments on anything i would post. Missed our conversations weekly❤️ Rest in paradise my sweet friend. Otra amiga como tu no va ver. 

We will miss you here on earth but we will see you soon 🙏
