Maria Christina Talavera, 82, of Lawndale, CA passed away in Hesperia, CA on May 30, 2016. Maria was born in Inglewood, CA on February 13, 1934 to Herlinda and Manuel Gomez. She attended Inglewood High School.
Maria mostly dedicated her time to raising her family. She was a stay home mom for over 30 years. She enjoyed sewing and crafting. Maria was also a member of Iglesia La Resurreccion in Lawndale for more than 25 years. She then was a member of her son's church, Templo La Hermosa, for more than 15 years. Maria is survived by her four children Patsy Cariño, Nina Covarrubio, Francisco Talavera, and Pedro Talavera, Jr. and their spouses and eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was predeceased by Pedro Talavera her husband of 34 years.
Funeral services will be held at Mission Ebenezer Family Church 415 W. Torrance, CA 90745 on Friday, June 10, 2016 at
7:00 p.m. and Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 10:00 a.m.
