She was born January 24, 1936, in Hiwasse to Charlie and Grace Hatcher.
Betty married her beloved husband, Darrel, on July 8, 1953. They were married 47 years.
They travelled the U.S., including three fun filled years in Hawaii. When he retired in 1966, they moved to their farm in Gravette, Arkansas.
Betty and Darrel had three children, Charlene, Charles (wife Roxie) and Robert Smith.
They have seven grandchildren, Wednesday and husband Yancey Pettigrew, Chauncey and Jacelyn Booher, Cameron and wife Ashley Smith, Michael and wife Meghan Smith, Matthew Smith, Brandon, and Kristen.
She also has great-grandchildren, Lacey, Keeley, Penelope, Schon, Dayton, Michaela, Wyatte, Isla, Alexis, Aiden, Airian, Asher, Braedon, Breelyn, and Skyler.
Betty enjoyed being an active member of the church. She taught Children’s Sunday School, worked in the nursery, prepared Wednesday night meals, funeral meals, and loved the church potlucks! She loved quilting for her family, and we all cherish her labor of love. Making quilts for the Children’s Advocacy Center was a joy to her as well. Reading her Bible, making cards, putting puzzles together, and cooking were some of her favorite things to do.
She leaves multiple nieces and nephews, her brother, sisters-in-law, friends, and her precious church family.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Gospel Tracts International, the Children’s Home, or Circle of Life Hospice.
