

Linda "Gail" Thaxton Sigman, 82, of Centerton, Arkansas, passed away on March 4, 2026. Born June 13, 1943, in Barnesville, Georgia, Gail was a beloved presence to all who knew her—humorous, hard-working, faithful, selfless, and kind-hearted throughout a life marked by service and devotion.
Gail grew up in Georgia and spent most of her life there. Following high school, she began her nursing career and worked as a registered nurse for many years at Vidalia Memorial Hospital, caring for others with steady hands and a compassionate heart.
After working as a nurse for most of her life, Gail later began a career in teaching. She earned her Master’s degree in education and went on to teach nursing education at Vidalia High School in Georgia, sharing her knowledge with determination and purpose. Later in life, she moved to Arkansas to be closer to family.
Gail was quirky and artistic, with a deep love for painting and playing the piano. A devout Christian, she was a faithful member of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Gravette for many years. She often volunteered—helping cook and making cards for church members. Her hard-headed determination was matched by her warmth and generosity, leaving a legacy of steadfast love and quiet strength.
Gail was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Sara Thaxton; and siblings, Melvin Thaxton, Ronnie Thaxton, and Sara Elaine Thaxton.
Gail is survived by her sons, Ray Sigman (Michelle) of Bentonville, AR, and Kelly Sigman (Doreen) of Brunswick, GA; her “sista,” Lois Cox of Brunswick, GA; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 13th at 1:00 PM at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Gravette, AR, with inurnment to follow at Pinnacle Memorial Gardens in Rogers, AR.
