

Aleta Leecretia Parker, 89, of Yukon, Oklahoma, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 30, 2013. She was born on April 17, 1924 in McCrory, Arkansas to Laura and John Wilfong. She was the oldest of six children. On March 31, 1946, she married John Parker. They were married for more than 55 years before his death in 2001.
She lived a servant’s life serving her God, her family and others. On April 30, she heard Jesus say: “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
Mrs. Parker was proud of and loved her family. She is survived by her son, Kenneth Parker and his wife Virginia, of Port Orange, Florida; her daughter, Sandra Campbell and her husband, Larry, Yukon; her daughter, Lynda Tankersley and her husband, Danny, Bethany; her grandchildren, Claibourne Parker and his wife Alicia, Edgewater, Florida; John Mark Campbell and his wife Suzy, San Francisco, California; John Parker and his wife Jane, Johannesburg, South Africa; Amy Tankersley, Bethany; Jacob Campbell and his wife Erin, Yukon; Stewart Parker and his wife Melissa, Orlando, Florida; Nicholas Tankersley and his wife Beth, Oklahoma City; Cody Tankersley and his partner Mallory, El Reno; and Eric Cherry, Oklahoma City; and, her great grandchildren, Pierce Parker, Parker Campbell, Owen Campbell, Ava Parker, Ethan Parker, Sydney Campbell, Zachary Parker, Colby Parker, Baylen Tankersley, Cooper Campbell, and Caden Parker. Three brothers, Meredith, Leslie, and John Wilfong and one sister, Marion Martin, survive her. Her parents and one brother, Rowland Wilfong predeceased her.
Mrs. Parker and her husband owned and operated several restaurants in El Reno, Yukon, Calumet, and Hinton.
Mrs. Parker came to know Jesus as her personal Lord and Savior at an early age. She was a student of the Bible. Every year, she read through the Bible. She shared the love of Jesus with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She wanted family members to know and accept Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior. She loved to read and her room was filled with books.
Prior to moving to Oklahoma, she taught children’s Sunday School and Vacation Bible School at Immanuel Baptist Church, Little Rock, Arkansas where she and her family were active members.
Services will be held Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Bill Merritt Funeral Home, Bethany, Oklahoma. Visitation will be Friday May 3, 2013 from 12:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Burial will be at Yukon Cemetery.
