Anita Stinson passed away on March 1, 2020 after a lengthy illness. She was born in Calumet, OK. Being the youngest of her family, she was preceded in death by her parents Gladys F. (Penwright) and Harold H. Simes, her brother Harold Simes and sister, Francis Harper.
She was retired from the State of Oklahoma where she worked in various supervisory positions including the offices of the Corporation Commission and Utility Complaints.
She had a sharp sense of humor and was determined to live an “interesting” life rather than just a “normal” one. She survived almost all of her husbands, Henry C. McGee, Joe Littlecreek, Dale Harbour, Jerry Jones, Glen Heaton, Artie Johnson and Willie Stinson.
She was an imaginative prankster. She once had a load of topsoil delivered and dumped in a friend’s driveway. She would stealthily swap OSU flags for OU flags on people’s flagpoles and once hung a gigantic pair of panties across the bumper of a car with a sign that said “Honk! (NAME) had a great time last night!”
She was a doting cat mother of four who would also feed all of the neighborhood strays and whatever else managed to find its way through the cat door that led directly into her bedroom. Two wild opossums were frequent visitors and occasionally found respite from the cold under her bed.
She is survived by her son Michael S. McGee of OKC, daughters Sharon L. Constantin of Norman, OK, Maggie McGee of Omaha, NE, Kathy Brunner of OKC, Julie McGee of Tampa, FL, 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Gravesides services will be 2pm Friday, March 6, 2020 at Memorial Park Cemetery.
