Freddie Irene (Jones) Spain

Freddie Irene Jones Spain was born in Neinda, TX Aug. 6, 1911, the daughter of Beach Eden & Rosa Lee Jones and passed away at the home of her daughter & longtime caregiver, Patricia Lee Spain January 31, 2013 in Okla. City, OK at the age of 101. Freddie married Myron Lee Spain Aug. 31, 1937 in Okla. City. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Tuttle, OK where they resided until 1966 when they moved to Littleton, CO. After Myron retired, they moved to Okla. City, where Freddie was employed for a time in the children’s department of John A. Brown department store. In 1992, after the death of Myron, her husband of 55 years, Freddie moved in with her daughter, Patricia. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Tuttle, OK.

Freddie is survived by: Children: Gerald Dwight Spain, Meridian, MS; Patricia Lee Spain, Okla. City; Sharon & husband, Chris Ingle, Luther, Ok. Grandchildren: Kim and wife Dena Spain, Hazelwood, MO; Vickey and husband Danny Ansley, Vitia Terrell, Keith Rutledge and wife Denise of Meridian, MS.

Great Grandchildren: Aaron Spain, Nathan Spain, Natalie Spain, Roger Glover Jr., Jessica Rutledge, Nicole Rutledge, and Richard Terrell. Great-Great Grandson: Evan Riley Rutledge and several nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents, as well as siblings: Laura Cunningham, CA; Jennie Lee Whitehead, OK; Goldie Webb, TX; Johnny Jones, TX and Jeff Jones, TX and Daughter-in-law Inelle Spain of Merdian, MS.

A graveside service will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery in Okla. City, OK on Monday, February 4th at 2:00 pm. Bill Merritt Funeral Service will preside over arrangements. The family wishes to thank the Centennial Hospice caregivers for their help and loving care of our loved one.
