James Robert Bostick, passed away June 23, 2011 at his home in Bethany, OK. He was born December 6, 1944 in Los Angeles, California to Joe and Dorothy (Vorndran) Bostick. James worked twenty-one years for Bridgestone Tire Company before retiring in 1991 due to his health. James was married to his wife Brenda for 17 years. His favorite hobbies included fishing at lakes Eufaula and Texoma. He never met anyone he didn’t know and just loved to be around people and getting to know them. He was loved by all that knew him, especially those grandchildren that simply knew him as “Gramps”. James is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Brenda, of the home; 2 sons, Steve Smith and wife Brenda, of Kingfisher, Shawn Smith and wife Liz, of Kingfisher; 5 grandchildren, Dillon, Kylee, Emilee, Noah and Kevin; 2 sisters, Joanne Faglie and husband John, of OKC, Pat Rodgers, of OKC; numerous nieces, nephews and other family members and friend Gene Rodgers.Arrangements under the direction of Bill Merritt Funeral Service, Bethany, OK.
