

Jesse Hoffman Bowlan, 82, was born June 5, 1940 in Snake Island, Arkansas and passed away January 1, 2023 in Oklahoma City. He married Virginia Savage and they were married 16 years before her death in 2021. Jesse served in the Marines for 2 years followed by just over 20 years in the Air Force. He worked for the State of Oklahoma and retired in 2010. Jesse was a member of Modern Day Saints and rose to be a High Priest. Jesse was a very religious person and served at the Temple in Yukon when he could. He was a gentle and kind giant who loved animals. He leaves behind his cats, Miss Kitty and Mr. Cat, as well as his dog, Digger, with whom he was always ready to play catch or tug-of-war. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lide and Helen (Hoffman) Bowlan; wife, Virginia Savage; and daughter, Victoria Gail Summerfield. He is survived by 2 children, Douglas and wife Robin Bowlan, Barbara Kay and husband Don Noble; grandchildren, Nicole McGill, Matthew Summerfield, Kevin Noble and wife Melissa, Brian Noble, and Amanda Ramirez; and great grandchildren, Adeline McGill, Mariah, Charlie, and Kaylie, Brooklyn, Madison, and JoAnna.
