Kathryn Ada Grooms

Kathryn Ada Bostic GROOMS, age 76, of Bethany, Oklahoma passed away on Friday, December 17, 2021. Kathryn was born October 26, 1945, her father, Wid, was 39, and her mother, Arbinnie, was 33. She was the eigth of nine children. She had two brothers and six sisters. She married C. D. Grooms on February 28, 1972, in Cooke, Texas and had two sons and one step son.

Kathryn was a successful business woman who owned and operated a plumbing company in Oklahoma City for over four decades. She oversaw several workers and provided jobs as well as training for many of her extended family. Growing up, she loved to dance and won dancing competitions with her older brother Doyle as her partner.

Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband, C. D. Grooms; her parents, Wid William Bostic and Arbinnie Ruth Hilliker Bostic Borland; five sisters, Juarez Grant, Beulah Bostic, Joyce Roberts, Norma James and Marjorie Bowling; and a brother, Doyle Bostic. She is survived by her sons, Jeffery T Grooms, Clifford Grooms, her step son, Calvin Grooms, a brother, Buddy Bostic and a sister, Inez Nowells along with many nieces and nephews. Her kindness and her giving heart are lights that will shine through those she touched for many generations to come.
