

Born May 13, 1920 in Duncan, OK, he was the son of Ammie Kee and Effie Luette Smith Pollard. Kenneth served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He graduated from Bethany Peniel College (SNU), Bethany, Nazarene Theological Seminary, Kansas City, and Emporia Kansas State University.
As an ordained minister, he served Nazarene churches in Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Kansas 20 years before moving to Bethany in 1978. He also worked as a mechanic, English teacher, librarian, and U.S. Postal employee.
Kenneth married Naomi Ruth Jantz of Newton, KS on January 1, 1948. He is survived by his wife of 63 years and their children: Ruth & David Nantze, Bethany; Janice Brown & Cliff Brown, Pratt, KS; Karen & Dennis Vaverka, Olathe, KS; Rebekah & David Fowler, Kingston, MO; Soni Lynes Velasquez & Justino, Emporia, KS; 9 grandchildren and their spouses: Jerald & Konnie Nantze, James Nantze, Andrew Nantze; Stephen & Regina Nantze Ketola, Matt & Amy Brown, Kyle & Laura Brown, Tony & Sabrina Davis, Chris & Lanita Davis, Joe Davis; 9 great-grandchildren; cousins, Laura Akers, Duncan, OK and Edwin Smith, Florida; nephew, Louis Robison, Kileen, TX and niece, Kathryn Williamson, Wisconsin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Gertrude Robison, John Lee Pollard, and Helen Robison; nephew Robert Pollard; and nieces Sheila Womack and Eva Joyce Robison all of Duncan, OK.
The family will be greeting friends at Bill Merritt Funeral Service in Bethany from 6-8 p.m. Thursday. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 14th, at Bethany First Nazarene Church. Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 15th, at Eastlawn Cemetery, Hesston, KS. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the First Nazarene Church, Newton, KS.
Memorials may be made to Bethany First Nazarene Church for Mobile Meals or music ministries in care of the funeral home.
