

Lola Katherine Blair passed away August 7, 2012, at the age of 93. Lola was born October 2, 1918, in Palco, Kansas to Nellie Irene and Virgil Frank Eaton. Lola was a lifelong Christian and her many interests throughout her life included singing, playing the piano, cooking and entertaining, gardening and all types of sports. She was especially devoted to OU and Dallas Cowboy football. She retired from the First National Bank of Bethany in 1981 after 24 years of service and moved to east Texas where she enjoyed her time living and gardening on the shores of Big Cypress River near Caddo Lake. Lola loved her family and cherished those times when she could bring them together in celebration, including her annual Grandchildren’s Christmas Party, which included her famous sugar cookies.
Lola lost her first husband, Orval L. McDaniel, on April 21, 1957, at a young age, and was also preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, J. L. Blair. Also preceding her in death were her parents, Nellie and Virgil Eaton, two brothers, Joe Eaton and Lyle Eaton, who died at birth, and a son, Dean McDaniel. Lola is survived by a daughter and her husband, Barbara and Don Douglas, two step-daughters Linda Billen and Darlene Collins, two sisters and their husbands, Betty and Jack (Jesse) Mayhew, and Wilda and Gayland Aubrey, one sister-in-law, Mary Eaton, nine grandchildren, Shelly Douglas, Shawna Ward and her husband Edmond, Amy Douglas, Kelly Gottsponer and her husband Glen, Christopher McDaniel, David McDaniel, Melissa McDaniel, Andi Billen and her husband Greg and Angela Clary, and 11 great grandchildren, Matthew Farthing, Madison Farthing, Kelsie Witt, Tori Villanueva, Tyler Villanueva, Kristina Villanueva, Micheal Vick, Jonathan Vick, Carter Billen, Hunter Mills and Blair Mills and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends that loved her dearly.
