Lu Kuang Phillips, aka, Vicky James, passed peacefully from this life on September 5, 2015, in the comfort of her home after a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer. Vicky was born February 6, 1931, in Meling, China to parents, Tei Chang and Jen Sue Mui Chang. She married Wong Chiang and had three children. They divorced and she married Cecil Lee Cox. The family came to America in 1965 and lived in California until 1967 when Cecil was transferred to Tinker Air Force Base. Vicky worked in the Tinker PX, then at Western Electric until 1972 when she went to work for Gulfstream Aerospace (then known as Aero Commander) in Bethany, OK. She was a skilled worker In the Electrical Department where she built aircraft harnesses and later transferred to the Deburr department. Vicky was a model employee, always willing to work overtime and worked a lot of it to support her three children. She was cheerful, positive and always dressed to perfection. She wore starched blouses (never wore shirts without collars because she thought these were for men). When not working, Vicky enjoyed gardening and grooming her 97 rose bushes. She also loved to dance and enjoyed being the best dressed lady at the affairs she attended. She took great pride in her culture and her beautiful home reflected this love. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tei Chang and Jen Sue Mui Chang; two daughters, Fen Chen Chen and Feng Yee Chen. She is survived by her son, Wei Chiang Wilson and wife, Shasi; grandson Darcy Robert Whittaker; stepson, Richard Chiang and wife, Mei Chiang; grandchildren, Kori Chiang Wilson, Keenan Chiang Wilson, Matai Chiang Wilson, Gina Chiang, Janna Chiang, and great-grandchildren, Jacquelyn Kim and Julia Kim, and many, many friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2015 from 4- 8 pm at Bill Merritt Funeral Service. Services will be held at Bill Merritt Funeral Home, 6201 N.W. 39th Expressway, Bethany, OK 73008, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2015.
