Roger Howard Halverson, 83, went peacefully to his heavenly home on November 5, 2023, after a long and valiant battle with Dementia/Alzheimer's. His devotion to his loving family and his firm belief in his Savior gave him strength and peace in his final days.
Roger was born to Howard and Hazel Halverson, in Pierce County, WI on September 19, 1940. Roger grew up on the family dairy farm with his younger twin sisters, Lu and Linda. After training in CO and AL, as an aircraft mechanic, he was stationed at Ft. Sill, OK. In the early days of his career while working full time, Roger attended OSU-OKC ext and received his Associates Degree. During his career, the family lived in Oklahoma, Missouri, Texas and North Carolina before retiring back to Oklahoma. Roger was a detailed problem solver, an all-around handy man and helper to all. While Rogers’s career took him on many travels, his favorite travels were with his wife Gwen. Together they enjoyed 20 cruises with many family and friends. They also enjoyed trips to London, Germany, Japan and Disneyworld with their grandsons. Roger enjoyed reading, military history, Sudoku, going to the gym, a handful of ginger snap cookies and studying the Bible.
