Sabine Kifer passed away April 22, 2012. She was born on April 8, 1923 in Hendaye in the Basque country of Southwest France to Marc and Marianne Yriarte. She was very proud of her Basque heritage. Sabine was the first war bride in Oklahoma. She came to Cushing, Oklahoma from Paris, France in 1945. Sabine retired from Western Electric. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Andree Sollinger and Ettienette Lecuona. Sabine is survived by her children, Denise Andree, Rene Kifer and his wife, Sharon, and Marianne Bird and her husband, David; grandchildren, Toni Marie Kifer, Bret Kifer, Matt Bird and Marc Bird; and many relatives living in Hendaye, France. Memorial Service will be held at St. Charles Catholic Church on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at 10:00 am.
