Sandra “Sandy” Jean Wilson, age 75, passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2026. Sandy was born on August 24, 1950, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Alexander and JoAnn (Brown) Flint. She was raised with strong values, a determined spirit, and a work ethic that defined her life. In 1972, Sandy married the love of her life, Patrick “Glenn” Wilson, and the two shared a wonderful and devoted marriage until Glenn’s passing in 2018. Together they enjoyed traveling, especially trips to Santa Fe and Las Vegas, and spending time bowling in a couples league appropriately named “The Balls and Bags.” Though she had never bowled before joining the league, Sandy proudly earned the Most Improved Bowler award. Sandy was a hardworking provider for her family and often held multiple jobs to ensure their needs were met. She worked as a computer hardware tester for Honeywell, Control Data, and Seagate. She loved her home and decorating it in a style her family affectionately referred to as “Country Funk.” Sandy was truly an icon and legend when it came to her style. Her eclectic taste was reflected not only in her home but also in her clothing. Feisty and strong-willed, she lived boldly and authentically. Her laugh was loud and contagious. Sandy had a deep love for Christmas and delighted in baking cookies to share with her neighbors, who were also dear friends. She enjoyed flowers and plants, and cherished time spent with her daughter in Florida, where she could relax and work on her tan. She also loved to shop for herself and for others. Her favorite place on earth was her dad’s family farm, Flint Farms, on the Mississippi River in Kentucky, where she made countless cherished memories during family reunions. Above all else, Sandy loved being a Grammy and treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Patrick “Glenn” Wilson; her grandson, Noah Paul Johanning; and her brothers, Bruce and David Flint. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Christi and John Johanning; sons, Kenneth Cole, and Zac Wilson and wife Jennifer; grandchildren, Nick Reddig, Zoe Wilson, Alex Wilson, and Luke Wilson; her sister, Sherrie Shannon; as well as other loving family members and friends.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 12, 2025, at Bill Merritt Funeral Service, with Sandy's Celebration of Life to follow at 2:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Kansas Cemetery in Piedmont.
