Joseph W. Cooper

Joseph was the beloved husband of Marjorie Cooper, with whom he shared a loving marriage of 60 years. He was a devoted father to Patricia (Paul Hurley), Linda (Joseph Nardulli), and Joseph R. Cooper (Mary). He was a cherished grandfather to Holly (John Lane), Paul Hurley, Jr., Jessica Nardulli, Victoria Nardulli, Valerie Cooper, and Erika Cooper, and an adored great-grandfather to Dillon Lane and Esme Lane. He is also survived by his dear siblings Frank Cooper (Ginna), Kathy (Bruce Early) and Lorraine (Walter Lucas), his sister-in- law Gail Hain and all of his nieces and nephews and their families.

Joseph proudly served his country as a United States Air Force Veteran from 1962 to 1966 and continued his dedication to service through 14 years of involvement with the New York Guard. He had a deep passion for his family’s genealogy and took great pride in preserving and sharing his family’s history. Joseph loved to travel, often fondly recalling Texas, his favorite place while stationed during his military service.

Above all else, Joseph loved being with his family. Some of their most treasured memories were made at his parents’ summer home in Breezy Point, where he lovingly brought his own family year after year. Joseph will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family, his proud service to his country, and the love, kindness, and legacy he leaves behind.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026, from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at Arthur F. White Funeral Home, 234 Broadway, Bethpage, New York 11714.

A Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. Martin of Tours, Bethpage, New York.

Joseph will be laid to rest at St. Mary Cemetery in Flushing, New York.
